Exhibition Showcases Southcoast Figurative Excellence
New Bedford, MA – Jan 13, 2025 – Kat Knutsen Studios, in partnership with the Co+Creative Center, is thrilled to announce a call for submissions for Curious Figure 2, a juried exhibition highlighting some of the strongest figurative art in the Southcoast Massachusetts and Rhode Island region.
Running from March 1 to April 1, 2025, this exhibition focuses on artists who skillfully render the human form within a spatial reference, exploring the beauty, complexity, and narrative power of figurative art. Submissions in painting, drawing, and printmaking are welcome, with the following requirements: artworks must include a spatial reference, adhere to a maximum size of 24 x 30 inches, and be submitted by artists aged 18 or older residing in Massachusetts or Rhode Island.
The opening reception will take place on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at the Co+Creative Center (137 Union St, New Bedford, MA), beginning at 5:00 PM, followed by a visiting artist lecture at 6:00 PM.
A digital catalog will be created for the exhibition, featuring artist bios and statements. This catalog will be available for print-on-demand, offering a lasting record of the exhibit.
Submission Process
Artists can apply via the Application Link. Submissions are due by February 14, 2025, at 11:59 PM EST. Artists must include:
High-resolution images of their work (file name format: “LastName_title”).
A short artist bio and statement.
