Sight V Sound:333 delivered a vibrant multisensory experience for the audience while highlighting different parts of the burgeoning art and music communities in and around the New Bedford MA region. It was a team effort event, wonderfully hosted by the amazing staff at Play Arcade, and organized by Kat Knutsen Studios.
SIGHT:
The visual feast of Sight V Sound:333 was brought to life by an incredibly talented group of artists, each adding their unique flavor to the vibrant event.
A special shoutout goes to Taylor Hickey, whose multifaceted role was instrumental in the 'SIGHT' aspect of the event's success. Taylor not only facilitated communication with the artists but also lent her expertise in designing captivating social media content. Her dedication as a team player was unmatched, and her own artwork, shared at the event, resonated deeply with attendees, leaving a lasting impression.
Ryan Santos brought an imaginative dimension to the event with his display. His illustrations and comics, filled with character and life, captivated the audience, while his active engagement online has built a commendable community around his work. Santos's ability to create a narrative through his presentation added a dynamic layer to the visual experience.
Alan Haynes shared his cool glass work pieces
The ambiance of Madeline Peach's setup was nothing short of enchanting. Her paintings, rich with atmosphere, gesture, and story, invited onlookers into vividly crafted worlds, urging them to linger and explore the depth of each piece. Madeline's work is a must-see for anyone captivated by the storytelling power of visual art.
Alder & Alder's display was a testament to their innovative mix media design approach. Their setup not only showcased their artistic skills but also their ability to blend various mediums into cohesive, striking pieces. Their work stood out for its creativity and the unique way it engaged the senses.
Alison Borges's exhibit of prints from her recent collection added a layer of elegance and depth to the event. Her beautifully detailed work caught the eyes of many, and her recent collaboration in creating animation for the music group Innervein highlighted her versatility and talent in bridging visual art with music, enhancing the immersive experience of Sight V Sound:333.

Sight V Sound:333's opening act was by the Punk Cellist, who set the stage ablaze with their electrifying performance, blending original compositions with nods to iconic punk rock bands like Blink182. Their recent stint as the opening act for Wilhelm Scream at the Vault was still fresh, adding a layer of anticipation and excitement to their performance at Sight V Sound:333.
The energy surged as Sleepless in New England took the stage, their entrance a powerful declaration of fulfilling potential and self-love. Their performance was more than just music; it was a call to action, a reminder of the power of belief in oneself. Sleepless in New England's online presence is a testament to their creativity and dedication to sharing their work, qualities that have garnered them enough admiration as to inspire a portrait painting of Hendrick Hernandez Resto that was recently exhibited at the "Complimentary Colors" exhibit at Gallery X.
Scapeghost then added a mesmerizing layer to the event's soundscape, their performance imbued with an atmospheric ambiance that spoke about topics like the amount of love, joy, and healing our pets bring to us. Their set was a reminder of the collective effort required to create meaningful, impactful art and experiences within the community. Check them out.
Central to the event's success were the key figures from the Long Swan project. The director of the Stoveboat Concert Series, Long Swan Drummer, and Fortune Frenzy lead, Michael McLean, was pivotal in keeping the spirit of teamwork vibrant and dynamic as he managed the sound for the event.. Andrew Hopkinson on bass, is now channeling his focus into the Everybody Wins project, promising exciting new ventures for local musicians. Mike Heffernan's contributions, both as a songwriter and guitar player, were palpable, his lyrics and leadership style on stage promotes themes of healing, growth, and introspection. In working with this group, the level of collective efforts underscored the event's ethos of collaboration and mutual support.
A special mention must go to Molly O'Leary's band, whose stellar performance was a showcase of what years of dedication to the craft can achieve. Their display of skill and passion was a beacon of inspiration, highlighting the beauty and fulfillment that come from a long-term commitment to creative practice.
